Hong Kong Dance Company - L'Amour Immortel Performance cum Post-performance Meet-the-Artist Session

Programme Contents

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the film "A Chinese Ghost Story", the 50th anniversary of the Hong Kong International Film Festival, and to honor the legendary Hong Kong actor Leslie Cheung, the Hong Kong Dance Company has created a new production, "L'Amour Immortel".

The production draws inspiration from the classic literary masterpiece "Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio" (聊齋誌異) and reimagines the poignant love story between Nie Xiaoqian and Ning Caichen, which was originally depicted in the 1980s film "A Chinese Ghost Story", produced by Hark Tsui. Featuring exquisite stage design and accompanied by stirring film music and the dreamlike, vocals of Leslie Cheung, this production beautifully conveys the enduring tale of unfinished love between a mortal and a ghost.
