Hong Kong Dance Company - Voyage of the Eight Graces Performance cum Post-performance Meet-the-Artist Session

The programme is offered by Hong Kong Dance Company in support of the 'Exploring the Theatre: Arts Experience Scheme for Senior Secondary Students 2026/27' (For school group booking only)

Programme Contents

The Hong Kong Dance Company and The TENG Company from Singapore have collaborated to create an original production, "Voyage of the Eight Graces". The work focuses on eight cultural essences derived from China's traditional arts: the zither, chess, calligraphy, painting, poetry, incense, flowers, and tea.  The production highlights the elegance and virtues of Chinese culture.

Both companies transcend traditional boundaries by innovating musically, showcasing a live fusion of traditional and contemporary instruments.  Through contemporary Chinese dance that reflects distinct characteristics of Hong Kong, the choreography interprets the cultural significance and spiritual depth of these "eight cultural essences".
