Listen to the poetic stories of Hong Kong's shores and waters told by the salt of Tuen Mun and pearls of Tai Po!

"Beyond the Shore: the Untold Stories of Salt and Pearl in Hong Kong (Tuen Mun and Tai Po Storyline)" focuses on the coastal areas of Tuen Mun and Tai Po, exploring community legends related to the sea.  With a unique performance style incorporating sound, physical theatre and a fluid stage design, the project aims to create a poetic theatre experience that engages in dialogue with the local community and its history.  Planned and produced by Theatre Aether, the two lead creators Thomas Tse and Alysa Leung draw upon their research into the maritime folklore of Hong Kong and Asia to create an artistic and theatrical journey, inviting participants to imagine the stories of Hong Kong's shores and waters together.  The project comprises community touring performances, workshops, exhibitions, and talks with sharing sessions, presenting Hong Kong's coastal history interactively and inviting audiences to reimagine the maritime culture of local communities.
